HUNGRY PARROT MANGO MIRROR
This series of mirrors pays homage to the beautiful fruit forms from which certain basic shapes are derived. The mango, pomegranate and the pear. The form of the parrot is recurrent in India miniature paintings, sculptural friezes of temples as well as in jewelry. Here we explore the naughty aspect of the parrot feeding on ripe, larger than life, fruit while acrobatically perched on it. It is a quirky take on an otherwise classical aesthetic.
