This contemporary table lamp is inspired by the philosophy of an ancient religion. The Jain belief is that our bodies (shareer) are made up of an agregation of atoms (parmanu) and soul(jeeva). The Soul is contained within it’s form, the parmanus. It is only when the parmanus break that the soul frees itself from the cycle of birth death and rebirth. This organic helix structure captures the tension of containment of light within the soul interpreting an ancient religion into a highly modern aesthetic.
